installed Rear Sway Bar

I got it done in the rain on Christmas Day cuz i was bored outta my mind. But other than that, it's a great mod. I feel the back has lightened up and it feels like the ride got a little smoother, or maybe it's just me but handling improved a lot. And i don't have pics cuz i don't have a camera. Can't wait till i get some Tein S. Techs and Illuminas, and that'll be the end of my handling mods.

Congrats, for me the two mods that I was very pleased with were the Y-pipe and the rear anti sway bar. Which one did you get?

Be careful of your back swinging out on you on sharp turns. Hope you have some heavy stuff in the trunk.

Make sure you have good tires so you don't go spinning around

man i felt a lot, considering that the ride got a little smoother too. and yeah it is wierd how it feels lighter in the back, cuz that RSB was heavy. especially holding it up while installing, my arms were getting sore, LOL. and i thought having more weight would lead to less traction control, no? well if i'm wrong then I should feel secure with the 12" sub i have in the back. And do shocks make a bigger difference in handling or the RSB? I'm guessing shocks.

more weight helps, it makes our cars a tad bit more neutral in the weight ratio aspect, which is what u really want

So does it make you more likely to spin out or something? Or does it make you slide around more?

uh????

ur rear will be stiffer, so depending on how grippy ur tires re u'll be sliding around a little. sliding around leads to spinning out, so their one in the same.

well people say that they feel like the back end slides around more w/ the RSB, shouldn't it be correcting that? Or is it more for body roll?

Why not get some JIC FLT-A2? ;-)

well if the back has less body roll and is more prone to sliding out than at least it makes the car less prone to fliping. right??

well the RSB's supposed to eliminate understeer. With the RSB on, especially Maximas, it causes the car to oversteer. This is what I heard anyway.

oversteer? probably not, but it will make the car understeer less. the fact that we have a linked rear suspension already takes away alot of flex in the rear, and the rsb, it helps, but not as much as most people think.

nismos14, what suspension mods did you have before the rsb? which mod do u think made the biggest improvement?

PeTeRtheEaTeR, after a week of initial impressions, can you later post how u think the rsb changed your handling? did it decrease understeer? did it help initial turn-in? was it easier to steer w/your right foot mid-turn? were transitions (left to right, or right to left) easier to execute? could you throttle-lift oversteer more easily?

Oh, and PeTeRtheEaTeR, what suspension mods do u already have?

thanx all!

Jae

sorry to say but I can't give you that info right away because my car's in the shop for imo...i think..."an engine rebuild." But i can tell u wat handling mods i have. I have maxspeed springs, fstb and rsb. The car went in the night after I installed the RSB so I drove it with the RSB installed for one night. And in that one night all I can say is that, although it may sound wierd, the car feeling smoother, whenever I made left turns...I felt the back was ahead of my front (if that made sense), the back lighter (as if it were lifting off of the ground), and i took turns a little more faster (such as highway junctions/exits/entrance ramps). Hope this helped but after I get the car back I will update you in the future (which won't be for a while).

i had a fstb before the rsb, then i got h&r's + tok blues, the h&r's + tok blues made the biggest difference, then the rsb, then the fstb, but i believe the fstb and rsb might be equal in terms of the amount of difference they make.

Just installed my rear sway bar today. Didnt go to crazy cause the roads are wet in some places cause of rain form last night. I did notice a diffrance and i know wut you mean about the rear end sliding out, i took a 90 degree turn at about 45ish and the rar slid alittle, but normaly i would have just hit the curb. Ill put it to a better test when i try it in some big open parking lot or something.
