Pin-Stripe
2 Questions
1. What are your opinions about the dealer installed pin-stripes on the sides of the car.
2. Do you think i should take it off to make it look better or what.

1. I like them on lighter cars, mainly white. Without stripes, a white max looks like it is missing something, maybe just too "plain". On darker cars, I do not like the stripes as much.
2. Given you have black, I say take'em off. Especially if you are planning more agressive cosmetic mods (i.e. body kit, rims, aftermarket wing) gives you even more reason to remove them.

Any chance of posting a pic of your car with the stripes?
Thats the first I've heard of a dealer applying stripes to a Maxima.

the pinstripes
Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't these pin-stripes on the side of the car "painted" on the cars? I thought they were part of the "painting process" when they come out of the factory. But then I have seen maxima's without the pin-stripes on the side...and some are just "pasted on"--
anyone know the story about this?

I used to have pinstriping on my sage mist green car. They were gold and silver. I removed them promptly after I got the car cause I think pinstriping looks tacky. After all they are just pieces of vinyl, and over time they will fade. Then when you go to take them off after that, you'll have two lines of where the pin striping used to be that does not match the car. Take them off.

painted on
I think these stripes are color independent. I have a sand-beige pebble (sand color) Maxima and when I bought the car it already had reddish thin lines painted on. yes painted on. My cousin who bought a q45 last year had gold thin lines painted on.
I have seen a lot of gold maxima with the same lines painted on--soo, unfortunately we can't take those off. I agree with you that a max definetely looks cleaner with nothing on.

mine.......
did not come with pinstipes and I'm glad it did not I do not like them and I am not putting them on in the future...just my opinion....they look good on some cars depending on the color of the car and the color of the stripe...and of course racing stripes on a Maxima is way to tacky......
