Tranny Pan Bolt Pattern?
Hey i went to flush out my ATF, and when i went to reinstall my tranny pan i noticed the i must of tightened on of the bolts to tight to cause the gasket to rip...I know there is a way...but i should of asked you guys before i reinstalled my pan....if so what is the best way to reinstall my tranny pan, without ripping another gasket. I tried to search for it...but nothing came up. Thanks in advaced. Also is it worth replacing my tranny oil filter while im at it? Im at 78k miles

change the filter is a good idea. when tightening the pan, tighten it in a cross pattern like tightening wheel lug nuts. Tighten one hand tight then tighten another across the other side and all over then torque to spec, not shure the exact spec. Before putting the pan back on inspect the surface where the bolts go and make shure its not dented up or it will not seal up right.

spend the extra cash to buy new bolts, especially with how old your car is, and how many miles are on it. it might sound like a waste of a little bit of money, but its more fun spending a little more money, than having one or more of the bolts break on you while tightening or loosening later on.
