Changing out LED Lights on Auto Climate Control

Im wondering if anyone has done a writeup on changing out the LED lights on the GLE auto climate control.. window switches or anything else....

Like the LCD clock, or Bose Radio (though i would imagine this would be expensive if you screwed it up)

I want to switch out everything with Blue LED's
As for the LCD's i would even settle for something like white... anything but green.

Anyone done any of this themselves? Even just LED part numbers would be great, since ive done plenty of circuitry/soldering myself.

Any suggestions?
Any writeups?

Thanks,
Dave

You could check the 4th Gen How-To Sticky at the top of the page. Just the title, 4th Gen How-To's, would make me think that there might be some writeups in there.

LED window switches, check out the How-to Sticky...To change your LCD display to red, blue, white, go to you local partty place (party time, party city) and buy a roll of celophane (cost= $1.00) use pink/magenta to get the blue color you desire. Place a small piece of celophane directly to the LCD glass. (you will need to remove the clock to do this) I used double stick tape to stick it. It works great but make sure you don't have any bubbles between the glass and the tape!
That's all you have to do! You can also add a second layer of celophane but then the LCD becomes a little blurry!

P.S I would post pics but my digital camera is broken, looking at getting a new one soon!

I got the ones that the write up said...not good enough for me. I just ordered 4 $7.00 OEM ones from the dealer and will be picking them up tomorrow.

the 300 mcd ones I originally used are pretty dim...I'd take out the reference to them alltogether if the higher output LED's radioshack sold were the same shade of blue. The dim LED's are like the violet-blue most other blue LED accessories are, but radioshack's bright LED's are more of a sky-blue and don't quite match anything else.

I did take apart the Bose unit too...it's got some little tiny incandescent lamps inside. I could probably find the pictures I took, but they wouldn't be nearly as easy to replace as the climate control lamps
