If ignition coils or packs are bad does the SES come on?

If ignition coils or packs are bad does the SES come on?
Just like the subject says, I was curious if the SES comes on if an ignition coil or pack is bad, also what would be some symptoms?

Initially, no. If the misfire condition persists, a CEL will usually show up stating which bank is the problem or sometimes just "multiple" if that is the case.
