paint body kit on or off car
paint body kit on or off car
im looking to buy a full stillen kit pretty soon for my 96 se. but i also am gonna get a new paint job for my car. should i sand/primer my car and put the kit on and paint it, or just paint the kit seperately? thanks
I would put it on first... why paint the old stuff if your gonna get new stuff?
And it will be cheaper if you only have to paint either:
the car (kit installed)
or the car +the kit
plus it will ensure a exact color matching.
If you are painting your self it will be up to you but I think it would only be easier to do it all at once.
-what color are you going

Paint it off the car and paint the car seperately, just make sure you use the same paint. If you paint them on the car and decide to sell the car later and want to keep the kit (or sell it seperately) you'll have some grummy old paint under the effects that won't allow you to remove them. Also, Maxima's have a big market and when you get ready to sell it a lot of people might not like the kit and will only buy the car if you take it off. But, like I said, you can't take it off if you got jank old paint underneath.

Urathane parts, bumpers ect. must be painted off the car.
The reason.....
Paint for those items needs to have an additive to make it flexable or it will crack and peal off.
Your metal car body doesn't need the flex additive.
