Buy a new one, or a good used one.

used one from a junkyard but make sure you get the exact year production date...a newer one wont match up to the system, thats what they told me when i bought one from the junkyard

They are $342 dollars from www.courtesyparts.com . You can give them a call and tell them what year you have. They are remanufactured OEM compressors. I think your compressor is the same as mine, they changed them for the cars made from 6/96 up, my cars production year was 4/96 . That price includes the core charge of $20, which will probably cost that much to ship it back to them.

I actually got mine from one of the local dealers. One of the part guys there is pretty cool. Their price was $392 and he dropped the price $52 dollars. When I bought my strut mounts he gave them to me for half off . So ask your local dealer if they will match Courtesy's price.

My intire bill for my A/C work was around $850 dollars. This included a new compressor (OEM), condensor (aftermarket for $185), a dryer element (aftermarket $60), and the labor, freon, and oil.

I think if it would just have been the compressor, the bill would have been around $480.

I think that is a realistic figure. I do think that around $500 is possible, as that was around what I paid. The guy that worked on my car is an ASE certified mechanic that has a mobile service. He has a modified truck with a camper shell that opens on the side as well with all of his gear and compressor in it (I was surprised that he had all his gear in there). He came to my house and did all the work. The parts that I bought through him were warrantied for a year and his labor for 3 months, just look around.
