Performance wise they are all the same...but the expensive brand-name ones look better if you're trying to dress up the engine.

i agree with maxisnice. the brand name ones just "look" nice. buy one off ebay for like 30 bucks shipped. if you want better handling that you can actually feel, invest your money in a rsb

I got the custmmaxima one for $68 dollars and it IMO dresses up the engine bay nicely!

I have to agree with nissanfreak. I just got my custommaxima FSTB 2day and it does dress up the engine bay nicely.

well there are some strut bars that are hollow which makes them more stronger, but i don't know if that would mean anything cause they don't bend, but more surface area they have the more stronger they are so i would go with the hollow one when i get one.

OTTO Racing:
http://www.procarparts.com/store-det...%2DFR45%2DSTBX

Made out of 45mm CNC machined aluminum
I'm installing that on my car tomarrow....i think it looks hot =].

check out http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php?MaximaFstb for info on other FSBs

imo the best looking one is the Cattman Front Strut Tower Brace...to bad its also to most expensive and no better then the others....

or spend $118.43 for carbon fiber FSB!

get the one that best suits your engine bay.

I couldnt see myself spending big bucks on the name brands when the generic one functioned just as well. Got mine on ebay for $20.00
But if cost isnt a factor and its all about looks then I think the Stillen looks very nice. The cattman bar is cool too. It has a unique look.

Dude you know good and well what he is asking about. I have never seen a front sway bar offered for a max and if it was you sure would not be concerned about looks. Don't give him a hard time because used improper terminology.

The ebay fstb that I have is much smaller in person than the cattman and stillen strut bar. If you want looks and expensive pricing then go with stillen or cattman. For a poor mans fstb go with ebay. They all work the same.

I think the Stillen one looks awsome. I bought a generic used one for $20 shipped. It still looks good, Its just a solid polished bar.
I think the ones that are perfectly round look goofy/cheap. Id try to get one that is more flat.........

You notice the difference most while accelerating through a turn.

i put a fstb on about 2 weeks ago and the rsb on on monday...each make a noticeable difference, but when coupled together is when the big change is shown. good luck...

I recently installed the cattman FSTB along with some energy suspenion polyeurathane (sp?) front sway bar bushings (http://www.suspension.com/nissancars.htm thanks to Fezzik for the link...very inexpensive). The bar alone added a lot of front end rigidity on cornering. The bushings were just installed today, so I haven't put any serious loads on the suspension yet. I'll install my rear sway bar this Saturday, hopefully I can now concentrate on speed upgrades, with most of the suspension in place.

aluminum is aluminum , they all have the same yield strength and same elastic properties, itll save the same purpose in theory, theres people who make their own bars out of a $5 aluminum pipe, some bars are heavier than others, if your in an accident itll prevent the engine bay from collapsing i think, but for handling purposes all FSTB are the same.
(correct me if im wrong)

When it comes down to it, I didnt really notice a really big difference. The front sway bar bushings made more of a difference to me then the Fstb. The rsb is a different story. I immediatly felt the difference and highly recommened it to aqnyone. I installed everything one a time to felt them out before adding the next.

I'm perfectly happy with my $30 ebay one

Hum... Maybe I should paint the black ends of it white. I think it would look better matching the color of my engine bay.
