EBC Greenstuff vs Raybestos QS
EBC Greenstuff vs Raybestos QS
browsing this forum i found that Raybestos QUIET STOP™ are the best street-use brake pads for our car......but my buddy with GSR told me that EBC Greenstuff Pads are the best u can get for street use......anyone have a comment?
well I dont know nealoc I've had my ebc greens on the front for about 8 mo's and they seem too show no signs of wear, I drive the car often enough. I paired them with brembo cossdril/dimpl rotors and the stopping power is much more noticeable ( not like a big brake kit I imagine) the only thing I might say is that they might eat up the rotors much quiker than the norm. also I have like almost zero brake dust with this setup. but alas my front rotors are warped I think form the harsh pads and the hot summer stops when street racing the punks where I live
I ve got EBC green on the front and Akebono for the rear.I am very dissapointed in the EBC. They are expensive and actually the dust is not better than cheap pads. The ACT (rear) are great and my wheels are clean for a very long time. Not sure how good Hawk are ,but I would not buy EBC again, even for 75 % off. I d take them off in a second and install ACT all around.
Remember the dusting with the Hawk pads will be a lot more due to them being very high friction pad. They will also eat up the rotors quicker. They are great pads made primarily for road racing and auto cross.
I have the Raybestos Quiet Stop pads and have been pretty happy with them. They are relatively low dusting. I don't "race" my car so the Hawk pads would not help me much.

HPS is a street compound and the HP+ is the race
I have EBC Greenstuff pads on mine, and have had them on there for probably about 9 mos and they are not really all that worn. I don't know if the pads had anything to do with it, but I did have to replace warped rotors once.
I have truthfully not been too pleased with the "low dust" feature of them. They were supposed to be virtually no dust, but they seem to put out as much dust as some of the cheaper pads (like others said). They are pricey, IMO, for what they are and what they do.
I will be getting Raybestos QS the next time around.
*One good thing...these seem to be lasting a really long time. And I am not especially nice on them.*

How long can I expect the brake pads to last, such as Raybesto QS or the longevity of brake pads in general? Like I said, I have the Albany pads. Cruising at 80+ and then grandma pulls in front of me and having to suddenly step on my brakes, the car feels like it is floating. Does this mean that it can't handle the high temp?
