FSTB install w/ out Tourqe Wrench

Yap, I did it. Can someone tell me ABOUT how much to tighten the bolts that hold the strut assembly. I tightened them as tight as I could w/ a socket, Then about another 1/4 turn w/ a big a** wrench.

Sound about right????

No.

Are you a big guy, small guy? Work out, don't work out? Different people have different strengths.

Use a friggin torque wrench. $20 for a decent one or go rent one if you're too damn cheap to shell out $20 for something you'll probably use again.

Hmmm, you have a good point, and yes I am cheap.
Maybe Ill stop being a cheap a** and go buy one. Then I guess I gotta read the FAQs to figure out how many ft lbs to tighten it

No that doesnt sound about right at all. Its supposed to be 30-35ft/lbs i beleive. I didnt use a torque wrench when i put mine on. But it doesnt require cranking it down. Its alot less then you think. I wouldnt drive it like it is. The bolt could strip if you put too much pressure on it while cornering hard. Something to think about. How hard are you gonna have to try to get them loose again? Was it that tough the first time? I highly doubt it.

If the threads didn't strip when he tightened the nuts, then they are not going to strip under the loads imposed by cornering. That's assuming the Nissan engineers sized the nut properly.

Well originally I took them off w/ an impact wrench when I lowered my car so unfortunatly I didnt undo them w/ my hand. Then I tightened them again w/ an impact wrench.
Then last week I put on the FSTB but did it at home so I used my regular tools. I wish I knew how tight the factory had put it on then I would have put it back on about that tight.(and never started this thread)
