Blinking Air Bag indicator

All of a sudden my air bag indicator on my 1998 Maxima has started to blink. What does this mean?? I don't want to take it to the dealer if there is a quick fix or a way to shut it off. Thanks in advance.

How to reset SRS(air bag) light –
Open the driver's door. Note the rubber covered button located low on the B pillar, a button which is pressed by the door when the door is closed. This is the Driver's Door Switch (DDS).

Turn the ignition from OFF to ON. Press the DDS at least 5 times within 7 seconds after turning the ignition switch ON. Turn the ignition OFF. Close the driver's door. Start the engine

My max may be mutant but if I close that drivers door prior to starting the engine the airbag wont reset, starting with the door open works.

you got airbags in your seats??? That's the problem with the 98's that have seat airbags...i have the same problem as well as a few other members... I keep resetting it . . .do it again, you're probably not doing it right.... it comes back after a few days though. . . . from what I hear it's pretty expensive to fix so don't even bother going to the dealer.
