hey
anything is possibel. if you say it went passed 140 then it did, but that doesn't mean you were doing 140. I think our cars have a govenor that electronically limits our top speed to 115. do not qoute me on this but that is what i read some where. that is also why they sale aftermarket ecu's that eliminate the govenor, they go for about $500. the fastest i ever went was 115 in 5th gear on the new jersey turnpike, how exhilerating it was.
Re: hey
So how did you read your 115?? from your speedometer or something else??

With the mods that you have don't be surprised if you can do that. https://maxima.org/forums/showthread...threadid=24364

OK dammit... why does this always come up?
there is no 143mph limiter on a 4th gen SE...
A stock gen4 SE is PHYSICALLY LIMITED to around 140mph.
A stock gen4 GLE or GXE MAY BE governed by the ECU to around 115 or 117, but all GXEs and GLEs DO NOT have the limiter.
If you have a GLE or GXE that goes over 120 mph, then you have NO LIMITER, and thus you are physically limited, just like the SE, to around 140mph.
IF you are going 120mph in a Maxima, I hope you are not on stock tires, and that you realize you could wind up in jail if you're doing it on public roads!!! Cops get pretty serious about this. Try this one on...
A couple years ago, I was pulled over going 70 in a 65 zone here in Austin (I was driving my '90 RX7 Turbo). When I pulled over, I noticed there were FOUR COP CARS!!!! I thought to myself "Holy JEBUS!!!" They let me go, they were trying to catch up to another guy in a red sports car they said was going over 100, and so they sped off, night-sticks in hand. These guys were pissed. Watch out.

My car took me to an estimated/indicated 145 mph. I still had some pedal left, but *not* much. That was before I put on my UDP and my Y-pipe. I wonder what'll it do now...?
Antecdote:
I had a work associate who got a "little" inebriated once upon a time, and tried to outrun cops on a long, straight county road in a *Mazda pickup truck* at 108 mph! Needless to say, it didn't work. The cops just kept easy pace behind him until he came to a roadblock. He stopped. He looked up. He saw about 20 shotgun barrels pointed at his head! After a brief period of "rough handling", off to jail he went for 30 days! Can you say "work-release program"? I thought you could... Ouch!
