Energy Suspension Front Control Arm Bushing Install

Hey Guys - I'm in the process of buying parts for a complete suspension install and I'm planning on tighening up the steering by buying energy suspension poly bushings for the front sway bar.

I've read on the .org that the front control arm bushing install is difficult. It doesn't look like it would be too tough looking at the links below. Does anybody have any personal experience on installation and what, if any, special tools which were used for the install. Thanks a bunch.

there is a easy way to get the old busing out of the control arm, what i did was i got a drill with a drill bit(any size) and i stuck it between the old bushing and the control arm housing and just drilled my way all the way around tho get the old bushing freed up and then u stick the new one in, if the new one don't fit just gring it down a bit, or use a shop press to press it in.

When i had my G20 I did the superpro front bushing kit. It was awesome...

I had some vibration in my wheel at around 80MPH and after installation of this kit, all vibration went away.

There are two control arm bushings. The one towards the rear of the car is easy...slip on and off. The bushing towards the front of the car is a pita.

You can drill the rubber on the bushing out, and remove the inner metal cylinder. Or like I did, use a drill and torch to clean all that rubber out.

After that, you have to remove the outer sleave of the old bushing. I used a hacksaw. Then I used a screwdriver and hammer to pry the old bushing sleeve out.

I didn't even bother to separate the control arm ball joint. I just turned the wheel left, and turned the control arm more left leaving me free access to do what I want. I had a friend holding the control arm while i sawed. I was careful not to put stress on the attached ball joint.

I sent you an email, and I would like to get the lower control arm bushing set from you as I have already ordered the sway bar and end link bushings. Courtesy is selling this lower control arm set for $30, I think that is fair shipped if you can send them 2 day ups, usps, fedex or whatever, as I need to have these by wednesday 21st. I would think you could put these in a very small box or possibly an overnight cardboard style envelope. Thanks and I am in GA 30101.
