hey just got upgraded from my 96 maxima to a 97 maxima. i still have both(mom drives me old one, 96). There are a couple questions i have about them. 1st. my 97 maxima seems to have alot i mean alot more power. When i step on it i spin the tires like crazy but in the 96 i dont spin them at all. I'm just wondering why that might be? Also i noticed that my corner lights dont work on the 97 when i turn on my turn signal. I believe that it is supposed to ligth up when u turn on your blinker becuase on my 96 thats what happens. Soooo if anyone could help me that would be great. Thanks y'all

Is your 97 a 5spd or auto ?? Your 96 should have felt faster if they have the same trannies due to less emissions on the 96..

Maybe the 97 has allot less miles, cleaner engine, diff. transmission,


The corner lights dont light with the turn signal, only the bumper lights. You can wire the corners to blink but that slows down the blink rate allot. It's OK to do if you have LEDS in the rear, otherwise it blinks like once every 2 seconds.

 

That really doesn't apply there. Between the 95 AND 96+ that probably would but not between 96 and 97.

 

I've read that out of the 4th gens the 97 model is the fastest...

 

In your 96, the knock sensor is dead. BTW 95 is hte fastest but it's barely noticible.

 

so if my bumper lights dont light up that probably means i have dead bulbs right...cuz it doesn't work on both sides..or is something else wrong?
