Question regarding the installation of fog light brackets..

I went outside today with the intent to install my fog lights and after removing the lower mud shield like my installation instructions advised, there was still absolutly no way the brackets were going to fit. It seems like the only thing left to do is remove my bumper completly and install the brackets while it's off, and then re-install everything? Is this correct? The diagram in my instructions shows the brackets being installed from the opening where the mud shield was (with the bumper still attached), but it just wasn't happening. Has anyone done the install who could advise me of the best way to go about this?.. Or if anyone has a link to how to go about removing my fron't bumper, that'd be great also.

Make sure to use the correct bracket, they come in left and right side brackets. I spent half an hour and could not fit it in, then I realized I used the bracket for the other side. Installation is just like the instruction says, put it in, tighten three bolts and you are done.

Yeah I had the brackets correct in terms of left/right but my problem was that I couldn't even get them in the general area to bolt them down. The picture that I have shows them going straight up from underneath the bumper, but the area is blocked with, uhm, my bumper.

Hmm. Mine is a 98 GXE. Maybe Nissan redesigned the bumper for 98 to make foglight installation easier? I installed the bracket from under the mud flap, behind the bumper, then moved it toward the front where it is supposed to be.

I guess I'll just try again tomorrow, my hands were freezing and since my car is lowered I couldn't really see. It just seemed like there was a lot of metal in the way if I was to go in from the back of the bumper
