my freinds 95 maxima 100k miles for $3000 but i have to convert the body and trunk to 99.

95!!! All the way. BTW if anything breaks on 95 you get 4.5k to fix it.

if you got a 95 why would you have to convert the trunk and body to 99? just leave it like it is, and use the money you would spend on the conversion for a turbo or supercharger

Just curious, why the conversion to the 99 body? Is the 95 damaged?
[edit] I see. [\edit]

Try to keep that in mind that even if you get the car for 3K, it would not be worth more than 5-6K depending on the market and the condition of the car. More than likely, you would be getting more options with the newer car.

On the other hand, you probably know where your friend's car has been so there should be less of a chance to get a lemon.

depends on condition on both, but keep in mind the crash test results on the 95-96 models are very poor, especially the front end.

95 would be good, but know that there may be a tranny replacement in the very near future which is expensive. It seems that 95-96 owners experience a tranny fix during their period of ownership, I've seen a few people who this happened to anyways.

Which is a 5spd? If both are take the newer one. Why do you say 97-99? Do you not know what it is? You should find that out. If its a 99 thats a hel! of a deal and I would be suspisicious.
