Painting the whole dash

My middle consol of my car(where a/c and radio is) is black, but all the rest of it like on the top top part and by the passanger side air bags is beige. I was wondering if anyone has ever painted that part of their dash before? If so tell me how hard it was and what you did, thank you

It's relatively easy, there's a write up on it I think. But you just need to scrub the **** out of the peices first with brillo pads, then sand them down so they are nice and smooth. Start w/100ish grit then do the final coat with something around 300. Then spraypaint. Wha-la!!

but how do you get to the dash, put newspaper by the windows, cuz its kinda crammed to spraypaint all the way up there. I dont know if were talking about the same part of the dash, i mean like where the passenger side air bag is, and the glove compartment and all the way across the top right by the windshield. Cuz you cant take out the pieces and sand them, cuz their are no pieces, its just a huge dash.

Ohhhh ok, that part. No, i was talking about all those peices in the middle. I think that black in the middle but beige elsewhere would look sweet. (I dont know how you would paint those, btw, sorry!) Do you have any pics of the dash?

Ummmm. I wouldn't try painting the main dash. That's not something you want to run the risk of screwing up. Besides. Wouldn't your seats still be tan. With a black dash and red vents, I think it would look like ****. If you want to paint the console, look at my write up on vqpower.com

I agree with d_warner
the main dash wouldn't look right painted, try to find an OEM black dash to swap in.

Please don't rice out your max with red vents and tan seats

WTF, I wouldn't risk painting the dash black. And the red wents is rice (just my own opinion). And I wouldn't try to replace the dash either, too expensive parts and toooooo much work (I think it's easier to pull the motor out or something).

I was contemplating doing this swap. Not painting but getting a donor from a junk yard. MaxGR97, how do you have a beige dash? The only combo's are charcoal/black, black/black, tan/brown. If you have tan seats you will have **** brown dash.
