hey guys, i haven't been on this site for over a year, i know thats bad. anyway im having problems w my 95 maxima and the climate control ****, it only works when its on the last speed (4). i tried searching the forum but i dont have permission, maybe its cuz i havent been on for a year. i went to the mechanic and they said they can fix for $140 but i ewas hoping they would be a quick fix to the problem if any or if i can do it myself. i would greatly appreciate it. thanx in advance

The resistor went bad. It's a $25 part. If you look under the console where front passenger feet are, you will see 2 screws holding a plastic plate. On that plate the resistor is mounted. So you would need to replace that part.

It's in the FAQ or How To, one of those threads with sticky. I just replaced one by reading the thread, ordring the part from the site (nissanparts.cc) referred in the thread, replaced it myself. The total charge for the part was like $35 shipped, that's it. It's real easy even I could do it in a few minutes. In my case only the #1 stopped working before replacing the part, but apparently the part (blower motor resistor) was the culprit and it's fixed now.
