I chopped mine with a hack saw and put an Ebay shifter on it. I'm perfectly happy with that.

If it's not adjustable, it's no good. You have to be able to "feel" the absolute MOST you can shorten the throw without loss of downshifting. If you can't adjust it, then you can't accomplish that. The Pacesetter is a really good product if you want to do it right. If you want to do it wrong, hack it off and put a shift **** on it Depends on your cash flow.

Honestly, I wouldn't go through the installation if you're not putting on the Pacesetter. You probably should cut it at that point. Good luck.

I thought some people had problems with their stillen shifter breaking? Here's a good website to checkout. http://maxmods.dyndns.org/

I have an OBX STS. It was stock height but shorter throws. So I cut it down 2 or 3 inches. And now is shorter and has short throws. I am pleased with it.

I have the B&M w/ the stock shift ****, and Redline MT-90 tranny fluid. Shift are very precise, a lot more that the stock stifter ever was.

The only complaint I have is that the shifter sits more forward than the stocker. But the shorter, more precise shifts make up fo that.

dont get one off ebay, unless its the stainless steel heavy duty one, not the alumium like was being sold before that one snaped on my friends car. and i have the pacesetter, can't speak much of it cause its not installed but its adjustable so thats good.

No way...it doesn't sit too far forward. The design is sitting like that because it is far easier to get the 2-3 shift with 2 being straight up and down. You get total 'comfortable' leverage for the 2-3 shift.
Click on my link above...there are pics available that show stock and B&M height/throw.
