Has anyone considered tinting the top half of the 95/96 taillights instead of purchasing red clears? I have a black car, and using VHT Niteshades....I think it would look pretty hot. I did this on my old Jetta and I liked it alot, but I've never seen it done on a maxima before. I'm not talking about light tinting...I'm thinking of blacking them out, but its completly translucent, so they look black until you turn you turn signal on or reverse. What do you guys think

I have ALWAYS liked this look for 95-96s..especiall on black Maxs. Dave B has this done to his Max...here are some pics (although not exactly what you're looking for).




I think it used to look different...I remember pics where the tails were tinted with a light coat like the FD Mazda RX-7 tails, it looks like now it's only the reverse lense that is tinted. They looked real good.

 

Would the Nite-Shade cover up the amber color?

 

Yea, the Niteshades covers anything and makes it look black, until the bulbs turns on...then you cant even tell its tinted (barly). I did this to my Jetta before, but i've never seen it on a max. The only thing that worries me is that if I do it on the exterior there is gunna be a line where the tint stops....im thinking its not gunna look too good, but ya never know

I'm also gunna do the LED's in the lights for the red part on the 96 lights too ....got some hookups for leds
