99SE vs. 99ES

Looking for facts. I've been on www.consumerguide.com, and it is an excellent site, but it's limited information on the 99ES.

I'm looking at buying a 99ES, thus my interest in them. (only currious about 5 speed stick)

If I have my facts right, this model came out as a late model 99. A prelude to the 2000 that has 227 HP.

99ES has 222 HP and 217 tourqe.

Is there a difference...
-in the top speed? (my 95gxe hits 140mph, but that's about all)
-gas mileage? i average 9.3 L/100km.
-1/4 mile time (i sit at 15.3)
-ride quality
-handling

THANKS A LOT FOR ANY FEEDBACK!!

I thought the ES was Canadian? I'm pretty sure you wont find a 4th Gen(99) with 222hp/217TQ in the States, because that engine came out in 2k+, but I could be wrong.

99.5 is not a 5th gen. It is a special, late-model production called the SE-L. That is what I have. There is not a 4th gen in the States that has that kind of hp or torque. I don't know about Canada though.

You won't find much differences between 99 ES and your 95 GXE.
99 ES was only available as a limited model in Canada. It's the same as the rest of 4th Gen.

Only 190hp...Canadian or American. Only difference between an ES/SE is that ES comes with limited-slip trannys like some I30s.

iirc...I could be wrong.

the ES model is like a stripped down SE model. Es basically has the same suspension and 16" mags but no leather, no sunroof and no spoiler. Mine is a 5spd and yes it does have lsd and abs. I also have the white SE gauge panel.

I didn't know that at the time I bought it. I know that now, however. It is still Bright Red though. ha ha. I have just not felt like going in and changing it.
