hate to be the bringer of bad news...so I'm glad the other guys posted before me...

it looks the same...almost no difference...u might want to try making the orange part darker...in fact...might as well do all the lights that are going to be red so they match..just a thought.

I will take a picture in a brighter light, it was in my garage and it's dark as hell in there. But there is a big difference.

Also I used 1605 Testors paint, and a glass clearcoat.

No not really. It would just make the lights darker, it won't help you get rid of the yellow that way. The only way is to paint them outside. My lights look fine so far. Just remember to put a good layer of clear coat on it!

Also it's a real b|tch to take the lights out... You got to really push them hard from the inside.

I got really good coments from my friends and now one of my friends is going to do it to his 240.

ABK,

Looks pretty nice!!! One thing I have observed, though, is that the shade between the top (part you painted) and bottom part of the lense has some type of a shade difference. Perhaps, painting the entire lense could have produced better results. But its still very nice, better than using the tape.

The one thing you did wrong is that you only painted the ORANGE part. A big no no. You should've painted both the red and orange so that they match up. I did that with mine. I didn't even take them off the car.

The reds seem to be different from one another. If you paint the red and orange together they WILL look the same. Of course mine are tinted and clear coated so I can't really tell you more than tat.

actually if you wonna paint the whole light red you need to take out both sides, besides it looks normal if you look at it. On the car to me and my friends it does.

BTW they look really good at night. I haven't seen them in the broad daylight yet since it's been kind of shaddy over here

Yeah TESTOR'S #1634. I wasted a whole can on the DC clears. The second time, I learned how to use it, I used only one can for the headlights and the tails.

Brozza, please get some red/clears, please. Or just paint the whole tail red, I don't think Palatine 5/0 will f*ck with you, you should be straight.

Well I'd have to disagree. Painting only the orange sets the 2 reds apart, they look different and it's quite easy to see.

I'm planning on tinting mine a little bit black so it looks better. A week ago I saw a Civic that had black tinted tails and it looked nice as hell. It looks black all the time and it'll look red when you hit the brakes and orange when you turn on the turn signals. I'm planning on putting a layer or two on my tails so the red reflector can still be seen a little bit (that'll be my arguement against a cop )

Trust me, if you only put 1 or 2 coats on it, the tint will be BARELY visible. I just put 2 or 3 coats on my headlights and I can't say I see a difference. I did my DC's and they are DARK but that was using 1.5 cans of TINT. They got darker overnight but not much. Also the tint gives of a DARK blue shade instead of black, kind of lame.

DanIam you bought the ones for 222 dollars or so off ebay. I was bidding but stopped at 200 bucks cuz I am just going to red out the outer tails. And yes Palatine cops wont give you a problem I am guessing but Hoffman Esates will.

I'll put one layer at a time and go from there. A darker look is better than the stock look I got 1 spare outer tail light to mess around with so I'll try it on there first I'll probably do the DNE taillight mod while I'm at it.

Where'd you pick up your tint spray can from?

I don't know Palatine cops seem to be real ****s to me and my friends. Like everytime we have something wrong with our cars, or are doing something that they don't like we get fu{ked up. I guess they just hate me or something.

BTW my tail lights pretty much match and they look like they came stock like that. I made sure that you see the black stripes and all the stock $hit. I put like 3-4 layers of paint on and 2 layers clear coat.

well seems there might be two palatine maxe's with red out tails. Figure I don't want altezzas and hate the amber. So the testor paint is sitting in the garage waiting for tommorow.
