Im no longer a Max owner

Couple months ago i got a job in Colorado (I live in Phx,Az by the way) and i went in my car. I was there no More than a couple weeks when one night i was driving home from a nearby town when a stupid deer jumped in front of my car. My first reaction was to hit the brakes but there was black ice on the road and made my car spin out of control, I was going about 40mph, and hit a ditch and a tree. I was able to still drive the car about 20miles home. but i could see the radiator was leaking hardcore. From just looking at it didnt look that bad, but when i had my cousin look at it because hes a mechanic we noticed that the car's frame was bent. Then my insurance said they were just going to total it out. They said the damage was over $9,000.00 and that was too much, and i even found a shop that would do it for 5 thousand but my adjustor was being such a jerk with me he didnt want to. And part of why i think he didnt want me to keep the car was because he had a 96 se too. but his was auto. with cloth seats. So i think he wanted to total it and buy it and take the trans. and seats off. He didnt even want me to buy the salvage tittle and even deducted bunch of money for stupid ****. Like he had to take a hundred dollars because when i bougth the car the dealership they cleaned it. I fought with him for a while but then i said *** it. And i dont have the money to go buy another Max. Ill probably buy a 1st gen altima for right now and when i can ill get another max but it has to be a 4th gen because theyre the best. Peace out guys

Oh and can someone post this on the General maxima discussion forum.
Thanks.

Most people WANT to have their cars written off as a total, rather than mess with a heavily damaged car that was repaired. If the frame was messed up, the car would never be quite right again anyways. You'd just be stuck with a problematic car that nobody wants to buy. How much did you get from insurance? You could probably just go out and buy another 4th gen.

The ins.company paid like $4000.00, but i still owed $6,000.00.
I know the car would have not been the same i was just sad because it was a 96 black on black leather 5speed and i wouldnt be able to find another one like that, and i had a custom body kit on it. Oh I still have the bumper but its in 3 pieces. Oh and is there a guy named Terrance from SC with a 96se here? Thats the ins. adjustor that is cheaping out on me.
=Terrance u fuking batarrd.=

Damn, 4000, sounds like a typical insurance screw job and they'll just go on and on about this and that to try to get the payment down...

Sorry to hear about that. Seems like you had a rare one.

On a side note, I notice that you were from Az. Check out www.azmaximas.org if you feel like it, or want to get another max.

Yea tell me about it.. It was a 96 Black on Black leather 5 speed. How many of u guys have one like that? Ill never be able to have another one like it. And 96's computers were better i think than the 97-99 because of emissions right?

If I were you, I would have taken everything that would be worth taking out of it and keep it for your future max.

Sorry to hear RAZER had to say bye to your max.

I posted long time ago about my rear ended 96 max GXE. One morning in May of 02, I parked my max at an Infiniti dealership and went in their lot looking for a used car for my father-in-law. A very loud sound came like a bomb --- my max was hit by a sleepy guy in an old Ford Escort. Basically the trunk was gone, rear door couldn't be opened due to frame damage. The other insurance paid me about $11,000 based on their market research on similar maximas in the same area. That was about half of what I paid (out the door) when brand new. That time my max had only 42K miles. The only things I added on are auto-headlight made by myself, low windshield washer sensor, a genuine Nissan in-dash 6CD changer. Not too bad I thought.

The next day I bought 02 QX4 from the same dealership. Although not a max owner any more, I still come back and read this board from time to time. Still love max a lot.
