code recovery from ecu

when they say to turn the screw to "stop", does this mean that you turn the screw until it wont turn anymore or until it hangs up slightly, but can still be turned more?

i get a cel about every 300 mi now, the first two times i checked the ecu myself and got a 5 by 5(everythnigs ok). the third time it happened i took it to autozone to use their scantool and it said i had and evap problem, specifically a gas cap leak. by removing and replacing the gas cap they said the code went away. this all happend less than 2 months after my gas cap was pressure tested by TN emissions.

Now 300 mi after autozone scanned my ecu i am now getting the cel again.

sorry for the short questions with a long explination

Done what successfully? Get a new cap or something. That or the autozone person was just talking out of his azz. If you say you get 0505 after the CEL comes on maybe you have a faulty CEL light.

turn the screw until it stops moving, do not use ANY FORCE otherwise you will break it and be in some ****.
