Taking off the steering column..help!

Can anyone help me on telling me how to take off the steering column, I cant seem to find it in the haynes manual, Ive heard its just 4 bolts, but I doubt thats its only that. Im taking it off cause its twisted and maybe I can fix it, if not I have a new one right here. Let me know thanks

Remove the two screws holding the lower dash pannel in, remove the pannel and unplug the chime. Remove the steel bracket with a 10mm. Remove the screws from the steering colum cover and remove the bottom and side of the cover. You'll be able to remove the top later on.

Pry off the cruise buttom cover and a cover on the opposite side of your steering wheel. Using the correct Air Bag bolt too, remove your air bag. WARNING: Do not turn your ignition on or you will trip the SRS system and set a code. Unplug the wires from the clock spring. Remove the center nut and remove your steering wheel. Not the DOT indicating up on the spline shaft and the steering wheel nut area. These must line up as well as the three dots on the clock spring. Failure to line these back up will cause damage to your multi switch. The three holes on your multi switch must line up with the three nibs on the steering wheel when you put this back together.

Remove the clock spring, multi switch and unplug everything.

Find the last few bolts holding the steering colum in the car and it will drop down.

My question is how the he11 did you bend or twist the steering colum?

When they stole my almost two years ago, I got it back and the steering column was twisted... ever since then the steering wheel is turned 30 degrees to the right, sucks for my alignment. =(
