Will 300ZX calipers fit on stock 97 rotors ?

A few questions ??

1. Will 300ZX calipers fit on stock 97 rotors ?
2. If so how much lighter are they ?

If not what do we use 300zx rotors too ?
How much lighter are 300zx rotors than stock 97 rotors ?

What all do we need to do the swap, what kind of money and where is the best place to shop for this ?

I like the big/fast brake kits but so much cash..

I know the Wilwood FastBrakes kit is claimed to be 10 pounds lighter for each front corner when adding up the rotors and calipers. That is very significant. They are also about an inch in diameter larger and fit within the OEM 16" wheels. Not bad for a price of $1000. An OEM set of 300ZX brakes for the front could cost you at least half that much and might not be as light of a weight.

You will notice a ride quality improvement by taking off 10 pounds of unsprung weight.

You should make sure your suspension is well sorted out first before going to big brakes. A poor setup (meaning too stiff in front) will not allow you to take advantage of the extra braking power.

Ceasar,

I'm not sure if the stock (97) rotors will work with the z calipers...although...I remember them being about the same diameter (after the z rotors were milled down) In fact...I think they will work. I advise that you either go with 2004 maxima stock rotors, or get 300zx rotors, or the 13" cobra rotors. The only thing you have to take into consideration is your wheel size and the clearance that you'll have. Depending on your spoke design your wheels may NOT work. Mine work, but barely and that is with spacers, I'm in the process of actually looking for a new set of wheels.

if you need anymore info...hit me up!
