Just got 02+ HID, any installation advice?

I just got the HID from a maxima for 200. I am wondering in what position do i put the bulb in? I was thinking of putting the ground part on the top, any suggestions? will the position affect the light output? Here is a picture of the bulb, its a 35w philips bulbs with the stock ballast and transformer from nissan. the ballast is made by "Matsu****a Electric Works". It also says nissan and 2000hr light source.

It aint gonna work in your headlight housings, the beam pattern will be completely wrong. The housings were made specifically for the 9004 bulb. By the way, $200 for the complete 2k2 HID setup near New York city...hmmm, sounds like some poor soul went out to his car in the morning and surprise!!!, no headlights. You ought to check out the 5th gen forums, lots of those stories...

wrong, wrong & wrong. . .
you only need very minor modification to put in 5th gen hid's into the 9004 housing. . .
check my webpage. . .you won't see the installation pics but you'll get an idea of the beam pattern. . . i think that the 5th gen hid's in a 4th gen headlights are the ones that blind the least and have the best beam pattern out of all the other hid kits. . . i'm very satisfied with mine. . .

I gotta stop by Casey's house (maximagtr420) and take pics of my install and maybe do a little write up for you . . .

98SterlingMax is correct. The beam pattern in our housings will be off. You will have to do some modifications to make the beam work out.

the beam pattern in all our housing will not be the way it should be . . . i agree . . . but that is because they're not made for hid's and never should have had hid's .. . all i'm saying is that the pattern from the 5th gen is not that bad. . . and the only modification you could really do (besides turning the bulb different ways) is to put in projectors. . . that's the only way to make it look right. . . but projectors in a 4th gen are a minority on the .org. . .

here's a pic of my pattern. . .

What kind of modifications, hey I can always sell these HID back, make a few bucks and just buy a 9004 conversion kit. Is there any Hi/Low 9004 HID kits available? price?

The guy is pretty busy. I am not trying to be an a$$ about this and it is always hard to understand this when you only have the printed word to read but if there were no market for these then maybe fewer people would have the "missing HID syndrome". Also, you should see what the fender and sometimes the hood looks like after these scumbags get done with their rapid removal. As for beam pattern, they might even look acceptable to you, the driver, but the people's retinas on the business end of these things will think otherwise and personally I would not want some blinded, inexperienced SUV operator coming at me on a two lane highway...just my .02, worth what you paid.
