Phillips blue vision/melted harnesses

Has anyone else had problems with harnesses melting with these bulbs?
In the past 3 years I've used the bulbs...I've had the harnesses melt on me 6 times.

This is just a guess but I bet it is due to the age of the harness. Make sure your grounds and all other wires are still connected properly.

both harnesses go but at different times...you can see where the harness connects to the bulb that it's the slot on the right that always melts.

You can get them from nissan or any parts place for 5-10 dollars. Just 3 wires to cut and reconnect.

Where I've joined the new harness to the old wires...you can see that my connection was starting to melt there as well. (only on the one wire that melted at the harness) Would this indicate a ground problem? If so...where do I start looking?

Yes you can buy upgraded/better harnesses. I think apc sells them.

Were you using regular wattage bulbs? How long have you had it with just your terminal connecters?

grounding doesnt work! i used 12 gauge on all connections and grounded directly to the factory grounding point right below the passenger side bulb and its still frying! i'll have to try the idea without the harness. somebody let me know if it works using the connectors

Replacing the harness with another stock harness isn't going to help.. it'll just melt again. What you need to do is get an upgraded harness. I got a set from www.southwestautoworks.com and it's been fine ever since.

ok after melting my stock 5 times i got the one from ebay ' what a dumbass i was'' total waste of money still melted so i got rid of the harness completely cut the wires and put the terminal connectors then put them on the bulb piece of cake... sometimes the harness didn't last one trip 10 maybe 20 min. but i ve had my current setup for 3 months now no probs,,, you can get the terminal connectors from napa or k mart or anywhere and make sure theyre tight on the bulb terminals and then tape em up to isolate them ,,, i don't care who has bullitproof harnesses i'm not gonna waste my money or time trying to find out
