Exhaust Installed (FINALLY)
Well I finally got my exhaust installed. Here is my set-up.
budget y pipe
budget straight pipe
magnaflow resonator
budget b pipe
oem 2k2 muffler
I only have one problem. I dont really care for how it sounds. I like how it sounds when I start the car. However, at times (not always) it sounds crappy. I am not even sure how to describe it. At certain RPMs there is the "bees in a can." At other RPMs I guess it sounds "raspy". Anything I can do to fix this? I know I can wrap my y pipe, but I dont think that will make a whole lot of improvement.

I bet you could get rid of some of the bee's sound by wrapping the flex section on the y-pipe with header wrap (hey, its worth a try), and replacing the straight pipe with either a high flow cat, or a resonated straight pipe. Might not cure the problem, but it should help.

No pics or sound clips yet, until I start liking how it sounds
I had ordered a high flow cat, but for 95 maximas there is an O2 sensor on the cat. most aftermarket cats do not have the hole for the o2.

I had a RT Cat installed on my 96 - it costs 20 bucks to weld a nut with the same threading as the O2 sensor onto the cat.
You'll probably have issues passing inspection with the straight pipe.
