P1220? did you check that yourself or did you have some pro have it checked by a comp?
if you did it yourself, you can double check it at Autozone for F R E E.

the place where i installed it checked right after install and it came up. Then we cleared it I drove like 30miles it comes back on then I went to another mechanic he checked it and same code he cleared it so I left thinking it wont come back on 25-30miles later CEL comes on have not checked it but I know it is the same code..

anyone ever get this?

*Before my install I had 2 other codes :

Left Bank Lean and Fuel Pump modual both codes did not come back after install..

Well that's what you get for wasting money on a race pipe. Check the codes yourself and tell us what the code is. Maybe the one of the O2 sensors? I know mine went right after I had the ypipe installed. They were messed up and the y-pipe just sent them over the edge.

I did not have any other choice $17 for race pipe or a new cat because mine was bad.. I changed the Left Bank 02 Sensor before adding the Y Pipe so it is not that.. I will read the codes tonight and see whats up.

...test pipe didn't throw any codes for my car, and I've had it on for 6 months now.

I will be installing a y-pipe of sorts this weekend and I hope I don't get any codes.

I've heard that any sort of test pipe or race pipe will mess up the o2 sensor that comes after it.. You won't gain much hp from it either..

The test pipe makes the car LOSE power. It's like 1hp and 1tq. Even if it gained any power you wouldn't feel it so it's in your head. Also how can you say it's the test pipe that gave power when you're comparing your stock MAX to one with a y-pipe and test pipe?

Thats a myth. It doesnt make it lose power. I bet when it coems down to it, and you dyno a test pipe vs a old *** cat the test pipe will win. Think about it... Cat Vs "Straight" pipe..

exactly!

the race pipe is just a pipe compared to a stock pipe that holds your power in. Why do you think you can pass emissions with the stock pipe? and with a race pipe you cant..

You cant pass emmisions.. True.. But I have a full proof plan my friend, emissions time roles arround and I get under my car and unbolt the race pipe and attach the CAT back on.. take it, get it inspected and put the race pipe back on.
