Is it okay to take the screen off the MAF sensor???

Is it okay to take the screen off the MAF sensor???

The MAF has a screen is it okay to take that off?

i guess that screen protects if something goes through the filter but i dont know for sure.... if it's for that reason it's up to u .....

I would think it's used to keep all the dirt and crap from going in. Why do you want to take it off. It's there for a reason. I wouldn't want to f#ck with it.

I wouldn't do it, greg (www.greghome.com) did it on his max and it provided no benefits at all. He ended up getting another MAF.

yea y would u do it, its not worth i think, i rather keep crap from going into my motor then have 1 lbs if that of weight loss.

They take the screen of DSMs MAF for perfomance purposes. I don't remember but I think it lets them avoid fuel cuts when they start boosting (I know it has something to do with fuel managment). And I think we would be just running richer if we would take it off, won't help us too much except waste more gas, at least NA cars.

yeah but see what it does it tricks the maf that there is alot more air coming in, which makes the computer add more fuel, as I said good for turbo bad for NA.

well another thing that would tell the MAF more air is coming into the engine would be a turbo

yeah but the screen is supposed to seperate the air, it's hard to explain. Grab a first issue of power pages, or go to dsmtuners.com and it says what it does for them.
