How do you remove these dang corner lights???

Ive spent the last hour trying to remove the corner lights on my 97 SE. there has to be some trick to get the thing off. I popped it out half way, but the ball screw thing holding the lower back side wont come out for the life of me. i already managed to rewire the side lights with it on there, but i have to get it completely off to put it back on right. someone please help me and tell me how to get the dang ball screw thingy off!!! THANX

make sure that you have removed the screw on top of the corner light assembley from under the hood (I personally always forget about that)... Then it's all about brute force. I use a screwdriver or the like and use it to pry it off (using it as sort of a pry bar/fulcrum). Once (if) you get it off, apply some grease, WD-40, or something else to the ball so it is easier the next time. Enjoy

Yeah, they can be hard to get out. and i would not pull too hard... the last time i did that, the black plastic thing holding on to the ball snapped right off. i would do what Gotrice4 said... use a screew driver. g/l

There is only one screw that I am aware of that you need to remove, all you have to do is pry the light out from the ball socket after that

its easy, just stick a flat head between the ball and the plastic, and pry it off, it takes me like not even a minute, i do it all the time.

i was just going to tell him the same thing, you should be able to get it out in like 10sec. Use a long skinny flathead screw driver.

Make sure you put a towel or some cloth in between the corner light and your screw driver to prevent it from cracking your corner light when you slowly pry it apart from the headlight. Just remember to take your time. Took me about ~10 mintues the first time I tried to take it off. Good Luck.

Yeah do this. I made a post asking the same question first time I took mine off. It was dark and I didn't know exactly what was holding it on but I didn't want to break anything. Use the flat head and it'll pop right out.

don't even need a towel, ur not going to be putting any pressure one eather of the light assemblies, just stick the screw driver between the metal ball and the plastic that's holding it and twist. it won't take 10 minutes if u do it right, all it takes is a twist. if it took me 10 minutes i would loose my patience and break the thing off.
