Braking issues

I bought my 98 max (w/o ABS) about 6 months ago and it had a warped rotor when I bought it. I was told this was a common problem and would probably happen again if I put stock rotors back on it. So I bought some Brembo slotted/cross-drilled rotors for both front and rear with Axxis metal-master pads. They were seated in properly as per the instructions, and driven gently for the recommended amount of time. This made the brake pulsing go away but I started noticing that the braking seemed to plateau... it started to stop ok, hit a plateau where it didn't seem to want to brake anymore and you'd have to put your foot into the pedal, practically to the floor to get it to apply more brakes. My next guess was the brake lines were stretching, so I replaced them with braided Techna-Fit lines and bled the entire system with dot 4 fluid. This seems to have corrected the plateau problem but the brakes are still not right. They will not lock up, no matter how hard you put your foot into the pedal. After 2 trys of seeing what they'll do by stopping as quickly as possible from 35-45 mph the brakes were gone... almost no brakes... severe brake fade.

So I'm at a loss. Do the Brembo slotted/cross-drilled rotors not have enough surface area? Do the Axxis Metal-Master pads suck? Am I having a problem with the vacuum assist? If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate the feedback.

Maybe it's a caliper? Does you car pull to a side when you brake?

Nope, no pulling.

Does anyone know how to test the master cylinder and brake booster?

Dementia,

I have the same rotors, pads, and lines and mine stops hard with virtually no fade. Very little pedal travel as well. I don't know whats wrong with yours but if you mention that you're a girl, you'll get a lot more responses.

BTW, I'm Green Maxima on that Altima site we visit.

I might get more responses, but they'll just be telling me that I don't know how to drive

So same everything huh... can I steal your driver side doors too since they're the same color? Somebody kinda rearranged mine for me. Big friggin dents is not what I wanted for my first mod.

You Might Want To Check Your Vacuum Hose To The Brake Cylinder And The The Valve To See If Direction Is Right Or Clogged.

She's already bled a quart-and-a-half through it.
