Swapping leather seat covers- How hard is it?

I have a 96 GLE w/ leather in great shape. I am about to buy a 97 I30t w/ leather that is good but not great. How hard is it to swap the seatcovers? I cannot just swap the seats, because the I30 has heated seats and the 96 does not.

Is it just hog-nose clips and zippers? I cannot just go check myself, because the max is in the shop having paint work done.

Ive never done it, but I know it can be done and its not hard, just a PITA. You need a special tool to remove and reinstall the clips onto the new seat frame. Im sure someone will chime in soon who has actually done it...

Thanks. I have used hog-nose pliers before, and I figured that that was all that was used to hold the OEM covers on there. It sounds like you just cut off the old rings, swap the covers, and replace the rings with new hog-nose clips.

nupe500-
