I'm looking at a Black '96 Maxima SE 5-speed with ABS, Security & Convenience package and sunroof (no leather, no Bose). 87K miles, great shape cosmetically, and they want $9,495 for it. I'm thinking that's a good deal...any other opinions? Also, assuming I got this car, and fit it with Stillen intake, JWT ECU, and Warpspeed Y-pipe, how much actual horsepower would I have? Around 215, maybe? 220? And maybe a 0-60 of low 6's with a quarter of high 14's? That's my best estimates...anybody else want to take a shot?

 

Stock 96 maxima (5spd) do 6.6-6.8 on 0-60 and 15.1-15.3 on 1/4 mile according to some mazagines (car&driver, motor trend).. Intake and y-pipe will add around 15-25 HP..
Just with intake and y-pipe, few maxima driver can do low 14's to mid 14's on 1/4 miles.. but most ppl that I seen doing mid to high 14's..
I can't tell you how fast your car (future car) will go with this mod.. it's depends on how ex-owner kept the car, doing all the tune up/maintain stuff.
BTW, $9,495 sounds little too much for 87K.. It's not fully loaded.. just a thought.. but hey, if you are happy with the car, go for it..

Hey Dental Stud, have you test driven it yet? If so isn't the difference between a 5 speed and auto somethin' else? BTW from what I've heard on other posts, 0-60 times are hard to improve due to excessive wheelspin (especially people with a supercharger). You may want to go to edmunds.com and it can "appraise" just about any car you want to check on.
