Paint the corner lights?

As you know, my car is red, now I wonder about this idea...

If I were to paint my stock corners red, how would it turn out? Anyone try this? I know I can afford clear corners, but this would save me time and money, and its more creative...

How is it illegal? I see plenty of stock/factory cars on the road with all red corners, no problem there. Its the color of the bulb that makes it illegal, as long as light can go through the paint im fine.

You're talking about the orange turn signals right? I mean why else would you mention getting clear corners instead of painting them red right? What car has red turning signals?

I thought legally they had to be amber/yellow on the front? I have never seen red on the front. The back is a different story.

Meh, I will be using the same color as the taillights use, I dont think the cops will make a big deal about it. I just think this might look better than the clear itself.

I guess all you can do is try it and see if you get pulled over. Right?

You are not ALOWED BY LAW to have red or blue on the front of the car. Something about ambulance and police colors.

True...you have to have an amber reflector in the front/side of your car. Other than that it depends on the light (red or amber)emitted from the blinker.

True, but my corner lights wouldnt be 100% red light coming out, id keep the stock turn signal bulbs in, but just paint the housing itself red, but not completly red. Just enough to match my car, yet still let orange light through, im completly aware of that.

it won't let the orange light thru. I painted mine taillights with 3 coasts of red, light is totaly red, my friend painted his 240 taillights red with 2 coats, only red light comes out, I dought that you are going to see any orange even with one coat.

Ugh, sorry. My brain is half-dead. Don't paint front bumper clears red. Illegal, orange bulbs will NOT shine through (tried this w/ rear turn sigs on old 92 max years ago).
