what if the sound goes away after your car warms up....? is that still the tensioner? like i only hear a clanking/clicking/knocking sound when my car is first started up...coming from the passenger side....sounds like it is coming from the top of the engine though

ok, so now i need some help making my decision. do you think just the tensioner needs to be changed...or would my chain be stretched as well?
Since this problem was supposed to be just for cars made before early 96, why do you think mine is effected?
i found THIS recall, specifically for the 97-99 models
