Summit RPM Switch

i have installed the MEVI
vacuum works fine
soleniod works fine

i need help on the electrical part
i have tried all the diagrams on the MEVI infos
i got it working but the thing is
its always on

my wirings are:

red--------- batt
black------- ground
white------- comp (green and white wire in the comp)
yellow and grey are on the soleniod

i ran the can to test the rpm switch
rev it up to 5000rpm no response on the MEVI
setting of summit switch is 2200rpm

no relay on this set up

Ok well the Tach signal wire is a white wire with a green stripe coming from the ECU. And IIRC you dont need both wires from the Summit switch attached to the solenoid, just one. One wire is normally open (open circuit until Summit switch reaches target RPM, then closes) and the other is normally closed (Closed circuit until Summit switch reaches target RPM, then opens) you want to use the wire that is normally open so that it activates the solenoid only when the engine reaches the target RPM setting.

There should be one wire unused with the summit switch (I think it's the grey one). There is two activation wires, one is an on and one is an off. You will have one going to the battery (or whatever power source), one going to the ground, one going to the ECU, one to the soleniod, and one is not used.

Once you have the wiring correct and if you still have problems try setting the summit switch for a different rpm....seems some have to use different settings for a 5kish activation. I have to use 3400.

**edit** yes it is the grey one that is unused**edit**

No, one solenoid wire should be +12V and the other should be the yellow summit switch wire. When the target RPMs is reached the yellow wire becomes a virtual ground allowing the solenoid to activate.
