I have silverstars and i like them. They arent brighter than stock, because well, thats just not possible. Their the same wattage. You can get 80/100 watt lights, but chances are you WILL blind oncoming cars, and you must upgrade your wiring harness.

To achieve brighter lights you simply have to get HIDs or go the projector route...

Save up and get HIDs, its worth every penny. Its a Day and Night difference from stock to HIDs. Im glad I spent the extra $$ for it.

...HIDS are the brightest and best way to go. After your aftermarket bulbs burn out and your headlight harnesses burn out multiple times, you'll wish you started HIDS in the first place. Otherwise, i've had good experiences w/Nokya bulbs

I got mine for $320 shipped, 6000k kit. This older couple (40s) pulled up aside of me one night asking about my lights, the guy driving was amazed on how much brighter it was vs. his stock headlights. You will deff get people noticing your car when you get HIDs, dont try to get the cheapo bulbs, just makes it look worse.

This is my HIDs compared to the "super white" APC halogen bulbs. (both are 4th gen maxes)

I do like the idea of HIDs but I don't like how you lose your high beams... not for the fact of them being brighter, just for comunication's sake.

Save up till you can afford a bi-xenon retrofit. That will give you high and low beams and a very sharp beam pattern. I had regular hids, I was happy with them for a while till I had to aim them down to the ground to advoid glaring oncomming traffic. I need ny high beams back to so thats why I changed. Do it right once. it will cost you less.

Frankly, I dont need highs with my HID kit, I havent really aimed them down much since I installed them. The beam pattern looks fine to me, some people are just pansies and cant handle the glare. To communicate with drivers, I use either

A) the horn

B) Flicker my HIDs

C) Flicker my Fogs

Either of them works.

I would not reccomend 12,000K. That's wayyy too much. 6000k like Chase (BlueC) has is near-perfect. Anything below that doesn't seem enough, anything above seems too much. And I suppose bixenon projectors are good, functionality-wise, but I hate the look of them in the headlight housing...

My car came with over wattage hyper blue bulbs. I never liked blue bulbs, but since my car had them I bought stock wattage blue bulbs just for the sake of trying them, oh and not to melt my head light harness too. I have Liteformz Hyper White and at $14 they really aren't as bad as one would think. I love the look of them, like the output too, but hate knowing that in the rain I'm screwed. HID's are the best, but if you dont have the money get an upgraded harness first. Then try what ever bulb you like. The harness alone will brighten up any bulb. If you are daring, with a little modification you could convert to 9007. You will get an improved low beam pattern. If you wanna stay legal, get Silver Stars cus they look great. There is also a booster for your stock bulbs, Catz is the name I think check them out too.

So let me get this straight....in order for someone to get bi-xenons, they need a projector?

And to answer ur question mendon11, i currently have silverstars and they are just alright. No big deal. They are better than stock, i personally feel that they are not bad in the rain ( i do have 20/20 vision)and they should last just over 12 months. This is obviously not as long as regular headlights, but if you are on a tight budget like i am, i would choose the silverstars.

is a direct install from stock bulbs to HIDs? Or do you have to install all new stuff, is it hard?

i do not see why bi-xenon would need a projector. it might but i doubt it. i think it just has to do with the bulb.

To get HIDs you need ballests, igniters ,bulbs, wiring.
To get hid projectors you need to custom fit the projector to your stock housing.
Projectors come in two types A) regular low beam
B) Bi-xenon High/low
All are d2s bulbs so you would need them if you plan to do a projector install.
All this is to control and use the beam from the HID bulbs as efficiently as possible.
To get the light where it needs to be. If you check out the links I posted before you will find all this info and more.
You will find out why it cost so much to retrofit, and why people including myself , are spending this amount for them.
My reason I need as much light on the road, I need my high beams, and I need a sharp and wide beam pattern. ALL this because I can't see well at night. More so then normal people. The more light I have the safer I can be and the safer anyone else is. I will be able to see them. It's also about performance. It's just better.......
