thoughts on installing CF Hood with a few people

hey can anyone say how difficult putting on your own carbon fiber hood would be ? it looks easy enough ? any reason to let the trained pros do it over , doing it yourself ?

let me know.

i was thinking the same thing...but a lot of people say to get it professionally done. Just look for where the bolts attach hood to body and disconnect, and disconnect the hood struts. Cant be more than 2 or 3 bolts on each side of the car.

hood pins is the reason people get it done professionally. all you need is a uni-bit and a drill, and some technical knowledge and you can do it yourself.

drilling carbon fiber/fiberglass is dangerous, always wear protection and whatnot.

its easy to put on a cf hood just as long as you have help from another person to help hold the hood in place while you are tightning the bolts to the hood. As for hood pins it is good advice to run them a few members of the org has had their hood fly up on them while driving. But to each their own on running pins. It doesnt look that bad IMHO

here is an old pic:

So you hood won't flex as much and it won't fly up and break your windshield. Or you can be all ricer with it by getting a primed hood and sticking those on.
