Another lowering question
In the spring, I'm going to be putting 17" wheels on my car. I already have them, and I want to put on 225/45-17 tires. My parents said I am not allowed to lower my car because I've already spend enough money on it, and my dad thinks it won't handle well in the snow. I want to lower it, I don't think it will look good with aftermarket wheel and stock suspension.
What is the best way to lower. Is there any way I can do it and still keep the stock struts. There was new struts put on it just before I bought the car a couple of months ago. I want to be able to do it as cheap as possible. I know it probably won't be cheap though.
Here's a picture of the wheels I'm putting on.

Here's a bad picture of my car. You can see how tall it is stock. Yuck.

You can. BUT, the shocks will die quicker because of the added stress. But then they might not, I know there's a guy on the org that has had lowering springs and stock struts for like 3 years and it seems to be fine, so it's really hit or miss.
The only thing that makes people want aftermarkets struts when they lower is because of installation labor. If you don't know how to install it yourself and you need to get new struts in the future you're gonna pay for installation twice. Which can cost like half of what you would pay for new struts. (confused?)

Stock struts will blow. You can buy used springs ($80+) and get some KYB GR-2s (~$250). You'll also need an alignment afterwards and since it's a 95, you might as well replace the front strut bearings so you won't have to worry about them drying out later on. You'll also need new dustboots if yours are torn
