Just installed FrankenCar intake

First off, I order the intake on January 11th, and I just got it this morning. That's a helluva wait. I decided that even though my KS just went bad I would install the intake anyway. Pretty simple to do, the only hard part is getting the rubber piece on the TB.

I'm hoping I did everything right. The instructions sucked so I kinda guessed on some stuff. I relocated the air temp sensor by twist-tying it to a plastic hose near the fender. Does that sound right? Also, I'm hearing these weird noises at idle from around the maf. Sounds like a chugging, kinda like a train chugging I guess. And I noticed that there is no roar in first. From a dead stop the roar doesn't start until I shift to second! This baffles me. The car sounds stock in neutral and first at least until 4000+ RPMS then it sounds a little louder. But in second and third it was REALLY loud from 2000 all the way up. I love the sound by the way.

Could there be something wrong here? Maybe I just didn't drive around enough.

Any thoughts?

I don't hear my intake at all up until ~2800-3000 rpms. Below that it's my catback.

I put the temp sensor in the filter and put zip ties around the whole filter. It's a little vague, but not "inside" but within the outer "valley's" of the filter.

Don't know about the MAF sensor. Maybe there's something in there trying to get through?

Instructions came in the box for me. There's a website called VBMax.com or something like that that has instructions. Search for FrankenCar installation on yahoo.com.

As for the noise, after driving now for a day I realize the throttle has to be pushed down a bit to get the roar. I was just expecting loud noise all the time, but the car is very quiet when driving conservatively. Thats why I couldn't hear it in 1st, because I was taking it easy.

Anyway, i'm pretty happy with it. It sounds great at WOT, kinda sounds like a V8 in my opinion. And I can feel an increase in throttle response, car seems livelier and a bit quicker.
