Making side marker of bumper lenses bright like headlights and cornerlights??

I rewired my corners to match the headlights. Easy and well worth it in both looks and night driving.

Now how to get the sidemarker piece of my clear corners(bumpers) to shine as brightly? I want them to match if possible. They are so dull you can barely see them. It kills the look.

If you run a search, I think some people have done this by using a different type of bulb, that had to be filed down or something like that.

No really I did search. File off the 1 **** on the 1156 or something. 1156 isn't the bulb for the sidemarker! Its a 194 or some crap, a little bulb like the ones in the trunk or the doors. So someone clarify a little beyond the search for me please.
