95-96 Hood different then 97-99?
I just did a 97-99 front end conversion and the grill wasn't fitting 100%. So tonight I went outside with the dremel to try and figure out why it wasn't fitting correctly.
First, the back of the 95-96 grill has one of the clips that are on the sides. Kinda like a "V". While the 97-99 grill has a male end on the back that goes into a rectangle hole (area 1 of which I had to dremel and make larger). I doubled the size of the hole to make it fit without tension.
Second, the hood was still hitting the grill causing it to pop out when I locked the hood. What was happening was the lock (piece on the hood) was hitting the grill before getting latched in (If that makes sense), and so was the piece next to it (don't know what it's name is). Got out the dremel and made it fit, and now it fits perfectly.
Are the hoods different? or did I just get a crappy grill, even though it's "OEM quality"

ill be part of this club soon..hopefully..if my parts ever come in...
do u think it would look better if i got the inner mesh part of the grill painted too or.. leave it black and just pant the part that is suppose to be painted(ie, the side part and the bar that goes thru the middle of teh grill..)??
