Anyone who has removed outside door trim...
OK, so yesterday I opened my back door and I hear this creaking noise and a pop. I figure I just need to spray some WD40 on my hinges, and that'll take car of it. So I do, then try it again. same thing. I start to shut the door and it's kind of resisting. Check things out, and about an inch of my outside door trim (Strip along the outside of the door) has piece about an inch long or so bent back to the point of cracking. Anyway, it looks like crap so I decide to take it off. There's now a rough edge and some really strong adhesive left on my door. My question is, are there holes in the door for clips to mount the strips should I decide to remove the entire things. I had looked into this in the past, but heard there were holes. This foam adhesive tape is really strong stuff, and is more than enough to hold these strips on, so I figure there may be a chance that Nissan decided not to mount it with any clips. If anyone has actually removed these, and could help me out, I would really appreciate any feedback. THANKS!!!

Yes, these are held on with 3M molding tape. There are no clips. The holes are just there to mount the molding on the car. You can buy these from Nissan for about $50.00 pre-painted. Just order the application for the paint code of your car.
