Question about Odometer, Airbag, CV Boot

Im planning on picking up a 96 maxima gxe 5 speed tomorrow and there's 3 things wrong with it. Just wanted to know if anyone had info on any of it. Thanks in advance for any help that I get, Im ready to be part of the maxima family

1) The srs air bag light is blinking - anyone have this happen without getting into an accident?
2) The odometer stopped working - anyone ever had this problem or know about how much it would cost to get it fixed?
3) CV boots are torn - I want to replace them on my own and was just wondering if it's a really hard job. I replaced the ones on my crx with ease.

Thanks for the quick reply, does anyone know about how much a gauge cluster runs for?

When i bought my 95 the airbag light was blinking, i just took it over to the dealer then walked to my car with a computer. Pushed some buttons and it has never come back on. Plus they didnt charge me.

when did you buy the car, when the car was brand new? Was it when you still had warranty through manufacture???

I guess it won't hurt to take it down to the dealer and see if they can take a look at it. I just hope its nothing serious.

Run a Carfax report on it. Any past accident may be listed and you might get an idea how long ago the odometer stopped working.

How to reset SRS(air bag) light –
Open the driver's door. Note the rubber covered button located low on the B pillar, a button which is pressed by the door when the door is closed. This is the Driver's Door Switch (DDS).

Turn the ignition from OFF to ON. Press the DDS at least 5 times within 7 seconds after turning the ignition switch ON. Turn the ignition OFF. Close the driver's door. Start the engine.

If the airbag warning lamp is still on (or still flashing), there is a fault in the Supplemental Restraint System which must be diagnosed and repaired. This is a job for your local friendly Nissan dealer.

Bought the car with 50K on it so no warranty. Dealer just up and did it for free. Sad thing was is i drove around with it blinking for almost a year before i took it in. I was scared i'd be told i'd have to pay tons of money to fix something etc.. but it turned out really fast and cheap
