Question about Odometer, Airbag, CV Boot
Question about Odometer, Airbag, CV Boot
Im planning on picking up a 96 maxima gxe 5 speed tomorrow and there's 3 things wrong with it. Just wanted to know if anyone had info on any of it. Thanks in advance for any help that I get, Im ready to be part of the maxima family
1) The srs air bag light is blinking - anyone have this happen without getting into an accident?
2) The odometer stopped working - anyone ever had this problem or know about how much it would cost to get it fixed?
3) CV boots are torn - I want to replace them on my own and was just wondering if it's a really hard job. I replaced the ones on my crx with ease.

How to reset SRS(air bag) light –
Open the driver's door. Note the rubber covered button located low on the B pillar, a button which is pressed by the door when the door is closed. This is the Driver's Door Switch (DDS).
Turn the ignition from OFF to ON. Press the DDS at least 5 times within 7 seconds after turning the ignition switch ON. Turn the ignition OFF. Close the driver's door. Start the engine.
If the airbag warning lamp is still on (or still flashing), there is a fault in the Supplemental Restraint System which must be diagnosed and repaired. This is a job for your local friendly Nissan dealer.
