creaking noise
creaking noise
Ok, so I installed a courtesy FSTB about a month ago and have noticed a strange noise at the front end of my car. This is somewhat of a creaking noise but is difficult to explain. It happens under the following conditions. I have an automatic trans.
1. Coming to a stop seemingly near the downshift to first
2. Accelerating from a stoplight there is a brief creak
3. Going over bumps at speeds ~20mph or below causes this creaking as well.
Based on what I have read on the forums it seems like I am looking at suspension bushings or motor mounts, but I was hoping if I started a thread I could get down to the bottom of it. When installing the FSTB I torqued the upper mounting nuts to 35ft/lbs which is in the range of 29-40 given in the repair manual I have. Perhaps I should try torquing them higher?
