35% driver and passenger windows, 20% everything else. Hell in Phoenix the cops have tint.

BTW, anyone know the law in Washington, and how strict they are? cause I'm moving to Seattle in April.
Sean...glad to see another NC member here. I hear ya about the tan interior....looks great but sux for tint. I WANT to get 20% all around, but how about NC inspection? Wouldn't they fail it if it has 20 all around?

Yeah it will fail probably. I would ask the shop that you are getting tint done at where to go for inspection. I'm sure if they are willing to do illegal tint for customers, they'll know where to send you to pass.

Officially in NY the limit is 70%, so pretty much nothing is legal on all 4 windows. I have 20% all around since last summer and no problems with cops so far. I think that tints on dark cars don't stand out as much as they do on lighter cars and cops don't notice it as much...my friends with white and beige cars get tickets all the time.

My friend with 35% tints got a ticket and when the cops measured the tints they said it was 14% or something...how does that happen?

go dark

i have a 5% all around and a 35% on my windshield..no tint on the sunroof...i dont know what you guys are talking about not being able to see out of a windshield tint...the legal limit here is 15% and i dont belive it is legal in any state to have your windshield tinted though only certain cops in certain places at certain times will hassle you for it...windshield tints just make your car look so much better...if you look at commercials for cars like in magazines and TV they almost always tint the hell out of all the windows because the contrast makes it look badass...just dont get anything youll regret doing when you get a ticket for it....

p.s. do i have the most illegal tint on any max on here?

factories sometimes put anti-reflective on the windows (notice how your windows look green when the rain drops bead up) and no glass is 100% translucent so when they use their little tint measuring thing it reads how much light passes through EVERYTHING on your window not just the layer of tint...so be careful with your selection if cops are douchebags where you live

20% all around with tan interior. When I do it again I'm going 20% in front and 12% in the back. I've been pulled over for speeding before and I've never had a problem with the cops and my tint.

20% all around (except front windshield, which is not tinted). I have got a ticket for tints, and it will not pass inspection. But it looks damn good.

People on here say that I overpaid, but I got lifetime warranty for $220

I'm happy anyways, and it's the only shop around here that will go lower then 35%

on average a good tint job would be about $200. I paid $180 for 20% on my 300zx (RIP) and about $10 more for the maxima.

I got an estimate for $160 or so from the best place in town. They use some material that is nationally warranted so you can go anywhere to get it fixed if something happens for the life of the car. And this is the new, reflective kind, by the way.

Most places offer lifetime warranty but you have to be careful and see how long they have been in business for.

Do shops tint below the legal limit most of the time? I want to get 20% this summer and the legal limit is 35%. Will they do 20% even though it's illegal. What kind of shops do tinting?
