windows roll up too slow

Both my front driver and passenger side windows roll up very slowly. Roll down isn't a problem, just roll up. I tried spraying some silicon spray that was suggested by someone, but that didn't work. What should I do? How about using some kind of grease? What kind and where to apply the grease? Thanks.

Try WD-40.

Wow, I really wish someone had a good solution to this. My sister's windows in her Pathfinder are this way and I treid EVERYTHING to make them work better. I even took the door panel off to get to the tracks. I tried WD40, spray lithium grease, and I even got my hands nasty pushing silicon grease into the tracks. NOTHING works and the windows are just as slow.

has the window ever been worked on? it happened on my old camry and the passenger side window rolled up pretty slowly also. I think it's the door panels squeezing the window too hard. The motor seems to be fine.

I went extreme when I got tired of the slow windows on our 95 SE. I took out everything...the whole motor assembly. I lubricated everything including the motor bearings but after it all I think it was the cable attached to the motor. I connected the motor to an external car battery and put oil in the cable housing while operating the motor back and forth. Windows work perfect now...I think i have to do the GXE windows now. You could also probably take out the window track rubbers and wipe them with a damp cloth to get out any muck in there.

Well, my passenger side window wasn't like before. I had a hit and run on the front passenger side. It worked fine before I brought it to the bodyshop. My driver side is like thing for a long time already. I think I'll just bring the car back to the bodyshop and see what they can do.

Mine roll up slow during the winter/cold months, the motors just dont like cold weather at all. During the summer they roll up and down fine.

It couldn't be the motor because the windows roll down fine, just have slow roll up. If it was the motor, shouldn't roll down be just as slow?

its harder to push up than it is to pull down. so it could be the motor... get it checked out i guess?

Maybe the Gravitational force is the problem

Hm...maybe it's the motor then. I tried spraying silicon spray like I said, but that didn't work. So, maybe it's the motor. Ok, how do I go about on checking it? It should be right behind the door cover right? I removed it numerous times to work on my stereo, but never took a good look at where the motor was. And then, how would I know if the motor is bad or not?

Have you actually cleaned out the window tracks? Or have you just been adding more lubricants to any gunk that is in there? I suggest cleaning the window tracks and all other moving parts. Then use a powdered graphite for lube. Liquid lubricants collect dust/dirt, and will cause them to get gunked up again.

I was thinking about cleaning the cable sleeve that drives the bracket up and down. Cleaning the brake cables on my bike really works. Also, any eletrical connections should be checked. When I had the driver side window control apart following the LED mods instructions, I found all sorts of gunk and cleaned it out.

Well, I'm going to open it up and see what I can find. I might end up just cleaning everything.
