Would a straight pipe kill my o2 sensor?
Would a straight pipe kill my o2 sensor?
I had a bad o2 sensor and my cat was begining to act up so i decided to buy all new o2 sensors and get a straight pipe installed with my y-pipe so that i could kill two birds with one stone. So i was wondering if the lack of any cats at all would cause my o2 sensor to work improperly and give my car a cel? If thats the case then how do people use straight pipes without messing up their o2 sensors and without gettin a cel?
Thanks,
Will

Yeah! I'd like to know this also! I hace a CEL for my rear O2 sensor because of no cats. What can be done??
So no one else with a 95-96 Maxima (these are the ones with the rear O2 sensor in the main Cat converter) has this CEL code??
Strange because when I had a Cat converter this code didn't come up. It only comes up when I don't have the cat.
Supposing my O2 sensor IS damaged... does this decrease my Max's performance?
